The Concordia Christmas Fund assisted 914 individuals this holiday season.

Fund chairman Rena Pitts said donations from churches, individuals, and companies resulted in the distribution of toys or gift cards to 525 children, plus a bag of groceries to 288 families and elderly.

The Christmas fund was established in 1988 following a holiday scam when outside promoters raised money for the needy and skipped town.

One hundred percent of money donated goes to Concord needy and all charity committee members work on a volunteer basis.

To follow are donations not previously reported for 2012:

EAA Chapter 912 Concordia Airport, $250, in memory of Digger & Penny - 4 legged co-pilots.

Catalyst Hydro, $1,000.

Jackie Keigler, $20, in memory of Thelma, Johnny, Abilene Whitley, Rosemary Watkins

Presbyterian Women, $50.

Presbyterian Women Afternoon Circle, $50.

Lake St. John Flotilla, $200.
