Despite a 14-3 record, Monterey's girls did not receive any votes in the Louisiana Sportswriters Association Class B/C poll. Harrisonburg, which Monterey has beaten three times, received three votes. Jessica McNeil led Monterey with 11 points against Avoyelles Charter. Monterey's boys, seeded No. 16, cruised past Avoyelles Charter, 56-32. Dillon Smith paced the Wolves with 26 points, while Kade Passman added nine points. "We played good defense and I was pleased with the effort," said Monterey coach Eric Richard. Monterey plays at Oak Hill Friday.
