Monterey drops pair

Monterey High's girls dropped a 45-35 contest to Rapides in District 4B action Friday in Lecompte.

The Lady Wolves are ranked No. 20 going into Tuesday's games in Class B.

The top 32 teams advance, with the top 16 hosting a first-round playoff contest.

Monterey lost to Rapides by nine points in Monterey.

The Lady Mustangs havev beaten everyone else in district by at least 11 points.

The Lady Mustangs are seeded No. 14 in the Class B power rankings.

Monterey's boys fell to Rapides 77-36.

Rapides led 17-9 after one period of play and 37-15 at halftime.

Sophomore Chauncey Tibbs led Rapides with 15 points.

Monterey's boys are currently ranked No. 16 in the Class B power rankings according to kenramsey.com.

The Mustangs are ranked No. 11 in Class B.

Monterey closes out its regular season on Friday before waiting on the playoff seedings.
