Body of Shaw man recovered in Cocodrie

Search and rescue officials recovered the body of a Shaw man from Cocodrie Bayou in Concordia Parish Friday morning, Feb. 8, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF).

LDWF Enforcement Division agents and Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office deputies recovered the body of Louis Fisher, 84, around 9:45 a.m.

Officials were notified about a fisherman who apparently had fallen overboard in Cocodrie Bayou at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7. According to family, Fisher was running trot lines in Cocodrie Bayou.

Fisher's body was turned over to the Concordia Parish Coroner's Office to determine a cause of death.

LDWF is the lead investigative agency for this boating incident.
