Mayors to attend meeting on Mississippi River issues

Vidalia Mayor Hyram Copeland and Natchez Mayor Butch Brown will be attending the 1st Annual Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative (MRCTI) Capitol Meeting March 19-21 in Washington D.C.

Copeland was one of nine mayors named to the executive committee of the MRCTI.

"I am elated to be part of the Board of Directors," Copeland said. "All through the years the Mississippi River has played a tremendous part for communities along the river. We have several issues that are very vital to our community we are going to discuss, not only with our legislators, but with delegates from other municipalities along the river."
