Postal hours, delivery in transition
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Meetings with local residents who receive mail through the Monterey, Clayton and Waterproof post offices are being held as part of a new operating plan being adopted by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to reduce costs.

A meeting was held in Monterey this week, while a meeting will be held in Clayton on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Clayton Town Hall. A meeting will also be scheduled in Waterproof.

The operating hours of these post offices will be reduced to six-hour per day window service on weekdays.

USPS announced in February its plan to transition to a new delivery schedule during the week of August 5, 2013 that includes package delivery Monday through Saturday, and mail delivery Monday through Friday.
