Wedding Vines - Harrison posted Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 @ 3:45 pm Meredith Anne Vines of Vidalia and Travis Ryan Harrison of Shreveport were united in marriage at seven o'clock on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Historic Dunleith Plantation in Natchez.
The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Tom Harrison, father of the groom. Music was provided by a string trio from St. Joseph Arts.
A reception followed in the Main House and Courtyard of Dunleith Plantation.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vines of Vidalia. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. E.W. Dayton of Zachary, and the late Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Vines of Newellton. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Tom Harrison of Shreveport. He is the grandson of Mrs. Joe Garrison and the late Mr. Joe Garrison of Vernon, TX, and the late Mr. A.S. Harrison, and the late Mrs. Betty Harrison of FL.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown by Lazaro. The white silk shantung formal bridal ball gown featured a ballerina sweetheart bodice and ruched cummerbund accented with a vintage fresh water pearl brooch. A full gathered skirt with silk flowers at the back extended to a chapel train. The attendants wore strawberry dupioni A-line tea-length dresses with a scoop neckline, gathered high-waisted skirt, and side pockets.
Maggie Coleman, of Lake Charles, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Alleman and Amber Hebert, both of Zachary, Sarah Kathryn Delphin of Shreveport, Emily Gullatt and Allie Hollis, both of Monroe, and sister of the groom, Hannah Midgett of Longview, TX. The reader for the ceremony was cousin of the bride, Martha Zabel of Lamont, Alberta, Canada.
John Henderson of Shreveport served as best man. Groomsmen were Clark Foster of Baton Rouge, Andrew Lewis of Ruston, Sam Midgett of Longview, TX, Russell Stevenson of Shreveport, and brothers of the bride, Caleb Vines of Vidalia and Josh Vines of West Monroe.
Meredith is a graduate of Vidalia High School and Louisiana Tech University. Travis is a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and Louisiana Tech University. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He is currently an officer in the United States Marine Corps, awaiting flight school training.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Pensacola, FL.
