Jury awards bid for old courthouse roof posted Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 @ 1:26 pm Louisiana Roofing of Bossier City was the low bidder Monday night for a project to construct a new roof and make other improvements to the old courthouse at Vidalia.
The company bid $120,000, the lowest of four bids submitted to the Concordia Parish Police Jury.
Other bidders included Industrial Roofing Contractors, Sterlington, $177,690; Rowell Roofing Inc., Columbia, Miss., $198,400; and John Gibbs Roofing Systems Inc., Bossier City, $208,494.
Police Jury President Melvin Ferrington said the project is being funded through a $187,065 grant by the Louisiana Division of Administration, Office of Community Development, Disaster Recovery Unit.
The grant was awarded following hurricanes Gustav and Ike, Ferrington said.
The project will include installation of the new roof, the cleaning of walls, removal of mounted items, repair of painted metal surfaces and masonry, filling of structural cracks with epoxy, caulk and reflash, and installation of heavy-duty silicon coating.
Architectural Associates of Monroe is handling the project for the Jury.
