Hall named to second team by Joey Martin - posted Wednesday, February 20th, 2013 @ 2:26 pm Ferriday High sophomore defensive back Trey Hall was named to the Louisiana Federation Coaches Association Class 2A second team in football.
Hall had 62 tackles, two interceptions and a touchdown for the Trojans last season.
"That is a huge honor," said Ferriday High head coach Cleothis Cummings. "That's coaches in 2A from all over the state noticing what Trey has done and it's quite an accomplishment. And receiving that honor as a sophomore is a testament to his hard work. And Trey understands it's an honor he could not receive without his teammates."
Only one other player from District 2-2a made the first or second team as Homer senior return specialist Darren Dunn was named to the first team.
Winnfield, which joins Ferriday's district next year, was represented by several players, with the lone underclassman being junior defensive lineman Corey Hardwell on the first team.
John Curtis' Duke Riley, who signed with LSU, was named Defensive MVP.
Jabari Tyler of Newman, a sophomore, was named Athlete.
Springfield coach Ryan Serpas earned coaching honors for Class 2A.
Named to the LFCA All-State Class A first team was Block senior defensive back Ty'Quentin Bell.
Representing Block on the second team were senior running back William Cummings and junior defensive lineman Jahmal Macklin.
Block lost to Westminster in the second round.
